The MMC MDMA Purity test is a quick test for MDMA that will give you an idea about its purity. It’s supposed to be used after the MMC Crystal Meth/Ecstasy test which gives an indication if MDMA is present or not.
With this test you are able to find out whether and how much the MDMA has been cut.
Dealers cut MDMA to increase their profit margins. The substances used for cutting are generally harmless but it sometimes happens that possibly dangerous substances are added.
As a general guideline you can say that when there is a high percentage of MDMA present in the sample, you are close to the top source and the cut of dangerous adulterants are diminished. This test also tells you something about the adulterants it has been cut with. To know more about the cross reactions look at the Cross reactions section at the bottom of this page.
The pack contains 10 MDMA Purity Tests, 10 spatulas and one instruction sheet.
For best results use a scale to weigh the exact amount of powder.
Below you will find a colour chart which is supplied with each pack. There are of different times because if you wait 60 minutes you will get a much clearer distinction between the colours then if you wait just 5 minutes. Of course this depends on how much time you have.
The top left one is after 5 minutes, the top right one after 15 minutes, the bottom left one after 30 minutes and the bottom right after 60 minutes.
This test gives some reactions which may interfere with the colors. When the MDMA has been cut with some substances other reactions may occur. Here is a list of interferes and their reactions.

Very light yellow color of the bottom layer no color on change on the top layer. (MDMA only colors the top layer)
BZP
Bright yellow top layer, gives residue on the sides of the ampoule in between the two layers. (MDMA does not give this residue.)
mCPP
Bright yellow-orange top layer, gives residue on the sides of the ampoule in between the two layers. (MDMA does not give this residue.)
MDA
Same reactions as MDMA
Paracetamol (Acetaminophen)
Yellow top and Bottom layers (MDMA only colors the top layer)
Phenacetin
Yellow top and Bottom layers (MDMA only colors the top layer)
TFMPP
Bright yellow top layer, gives residue on the sides of the ampoule in between the two layers. (MDMA does not give this residue.)
If one of these reactions is observed the purity of the substance cannot be determined with this test because these substances interfere with the color development of the test. Therefore the purity cannot be accurately determined.
